Introduction of Growth Hacking Course in Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT)

Online Growth Hacking Course started in November at Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT).
This is a credit course of a Japanese digital marketing course in English and online. This is the first attempt at this course in Japan.

The course includes workshops where all students taking the course will set up a business and perform digital marketing. In addition, students learn about the WACA training course, Web Analytics Consultant Association, which has been studied by over 39,000 people.
We asked the students who took this course to write a report on this course as an introduction to the course.
Here are some of the outstanding content from the course.

What I have learned from this course for this week, first “understand the scope of Web Analytics” that it uses for collecting data in order to study human behavior and it is really important for marketing research, business companies so that they can understand and estimate customers need and want. Second, Understand how to use Moodle. In Cambodia, we use other media to communicate like Facebook, WeChat, Slack, or Google classroom in the study field but it quite new for everybody here and it is the new tool for us to communicate with the trainer and also the place for students to do the exercise and read the E-books.

Yes, with Moodle and live classes, we want to create a new learning experience for all of our students.

After this one week session, I learn many new things. You are the first one of my Japanese teachers. For the first day of GrowthHacking class, I thought we would learn about marketing but it surprised me so much. Because This GrowthHacking class is a high classic class that I like. I really want to learn and cannot even wait for the next session. 
During the next session, the digital study was fine whether the teacher is not with us but the connection is still good. we keep turning on the camera. The teacher started to explain the marketing and the billionaire in the world that stands in the top ten range in the world.

At first the terms Growth Hacking seems to be unusual to me and the other students, but as Mr. Toshiaki explain what the course will be about, 
it’s starting to make sense. The course purpose is to teach us to excel in the world of digital marketing and to plan a business strategy, in order to increase our success rate in doing business by using analytical skills, factual data from the internet , and marketing skills. If you are someone who is not familiar with all the skills required to be good at this digital marketing, then this Growth Hacking  course will certainly help you to learn from scratch until you can come up with your own business plan and strategy to be able to compete in the modern digital marketing era. Therefore, this course is definitely a “New experience to try out”. As for the expectation from this course, I hope that I can dive deeper into the world of marketing through learning this analytical skills.

That’s right. Digital marketing is a means to an end. Digitizing your business itself will help you in your future work and entrepreneurship.

First of all, Growth Hacking is a interesting subject for me. There are many things I’ve learned at start. As I knew, Growth Hacking is not about the hacking into the system, software or into someone’s device as some of the people might think of. Growth Hacking is about the businessthe marketthe industrial. It’s how we do the business and grow. We need to gather all the customers and know what customers want and Growth Hacking is exactly gonna help use with this to make my business or your business grows and success which gonna make a profit.
    Also, I was introduced to Moodle website. It’s like a combination of education and social website where we get an account for each of us, we can send messages to others. Moreover, it has courses that I’m studying which is Growth Hacking is one of them. I feel like I’m not used to this site. It’s new for me actually. I think I will be used to this.
     At last, I think Growth Hacking is essential for people who are running the businesses and Moodle is one of the website where you can take this course.

Thanks for introducing me to Moodle as well. I know you’re still getting used to it, but it’s one of the best ways to learn what you need to know in a limited amount of time. I searched with this subject word ” growth hacking” on the internet. I totally didn’t know about that anything.
Then I found one article about a certain company and business man. 
His name is Sean Ellis, the Creator of Growth hacking and also he led his gaming company to the top of the industry 
with this technology.
After red this article, I was interested a little and I searched about growth hacking in details.
The main purpose of growth hacking is ” analyze customer tendency and trend “.
For example, if my company want to sell new product,  before sell the product, what we should do first?
This is, find the best strategy and estimate the profit.
If we lack this, our business won’t succeed.
Search the past data and find the best strategy and the target customer base in order to sale effectively.
So if our company sell new towel. set price, sales goal, target, ect…
Those important contents must be based on the trust data. Those will be led our new towel sale success.
Through this subject, I would like to enhance my knowledge of new technology and the ability that predict my future better.

I think he is a Japanese student. I’m glad you’re doing well in an unfamiliar environment and in English. Thank you for searching and researching. You have to make a profit to run a business. That’s a requirement, but more importantly, does the business make the customer happy? If your business doesn’t make your customers happy, you won’t be wanted in the world. I hope you will learn this through this lecture.

Web analysis is the measurement for collecting data from user on the internet.
Market of Technology and Internet
Nowadays, market of technology is widely spread and also introduces many new technology such AI, IOT.
Case Study:
According to status, we can see among all media including TV, newspaper and internet, internet has the highest usage from Japanese in all ages.
History of Market Cap:
In 1989, The companies that had the high market cap, mostly not related to technology; however, in 2020, most of the companies which has high market cap are mostly technology companies, while Apple company has the highest market cap.

Growth hacking and Web Analytics are the courses that quite new to us as Tourism Management students. In this semester, we had a chance to join the Growth hacking and Web analytics course, in which we learn to understand human behavior in using the media platform that leads us more understanding whenever we use this course to apply in our job career in order to promote the tourism sector.
My expectation and what I have learned from this course last week. First, “Understanding what is web analytic” it is my first time hearing the word web analytics, after listening and research on the internet, I can understand that it is the measurement, collection, analysis, and reporting of web data for purpose of understanding and optimizing web page usage and it not only measured the number of data sent and received by the visitor to a website, but it can be a key for business and market research and improve the effectiveness of a website and Web Analytics Consultants contribute to business not aonly website by utilizing all forms of data. In addition, to understand it more clearly the professor also provide us a case study. Second, “Understand Marketing analysis” which this part is in the scope of web analytics that users use keywords, search engine analysis, social media analysis so that we can understand human behavior, their want, and need. For instance, during summer people may looking for beauty products on social media like suncream and lotion. The keyword that they use can be “acne” or “dry skin”. Third, “Understand the process to become a good Growth Hacker”, to become a growth hacker require us three things such as Marketing and Management, Data Analysis and Statistics and, Web & Internet, in which we have to follow the PDCA cycle. Fifth “Understanding in using Moodle” for the first time it quite hard for us since it was our first time and mostly in Cambodia we use other media to communicate like Facebook, Slack, or Google Classroom but after listening to the professor and spent few hours on it, we kindly used to it and it such a great experience that we explore the new thing that it uses as a tool to communicate with our professor. Last but not least, “Understanding the point of view of the customers or customers’ field of view in using technology”, which media that they usually use the most and less use, so that we can understand customers’ experiences and use the right media platform to compete in the market.

This report is amazing. It covers everything. Thank you for taking the time to understand it all. I would venture to say that it would come across better if you broke it up into sections and used headings, bold text, images, etc.

Growth Hacking is the subject which focuses on how to make project, budget, income, company… grow. In this today course, I learn that there are some dominance factors that attract people to purchase a product from a store, or a website instead of the other. In example, a len store conducted a survey to see which of the advertisements (Len variety, delievery within a day, get discount coupon) that made people choose this store. As It turns out, people choose this store because it provided “Delievery within a day”. So by identifying the main factor which lead to this sales, the company can focus on advertising about that factor, which leads to a more effective advertisement and increases in sale. The same can be applied to Amazon which is the main source that made Jeff Bezos, its CEO, the richest man the world– Its promise to deliever within a day. It made people choose this website instead of other ecommerce website. Moreover, I learnt that not all sources are good for advertising. In example, in Cambodia people usually spend their time on Facebook instead of watching Tvs, reading magazine, or other social media app. So, the most effective way of promoting our product would be to advertise on Facebook

That’s an example of a contact lens store. I mentioned it as an example of how growth hacks can be used by small and medium-sized businesses. Facebook is the most popular media in South East Asia, but there are many others, such as Youtube, which is a medium that all students enjoy. For example, Youtube is a medium that all students enjoy. In class research, all of us said that we use it a lot. If you all keep encouraging me to do the assignment, I would like to teach you about the release of Youtube.

I am excited to learn about marketing, web analytics, statistics, business growth, and many things else that I am still not aware of. I find class is quite exiting with many students as I get to hear many opinions. I still find Japanese accent a bit difficult to understand sometimes, but I will try my best to catch up. The class is also interactive, so it is quite fun at the same time. I am also excited to hear about doing websites, reports, articles. I know it will be a lot of work, so it might be difficult to manage my time with other subjects and internship, but I will try to do what I can. I also had a fun class with the guest lecturer on second day. There were a lot of discussions and questions that we(students) answer in chatbox, and it was nice to hear another perspective from other people. Now, I still find Moodle a bit confusing and difficult to use, but I am getting more used to it now.

Honestly, I was an inferior student in school. I was a student who could barely understand the class when I listened to it, and I used to read the textbook exclusively on my own. So I try to make my classes as interactive as possible. It’s important to have fun in the class, but it’s important to act out of the class, and I think it’s good to use what I’ve learned in other classes and internships and give feedback on the results.
My English is not my strongest, so I apologize for the difficulty in hearing you. I will try to speak more slowly and carefully.

In this week, I had 2 classes about Web Analytics and 2 hours of Growth Hacking class.


First of all, it’s a new challenge because I have never heard or used moodle before.


Secondly, it was very interesting as I got introduced to Web Analytics which I was not familiar with before and how much it does help the business and sales. By during Web Analytics, you can know the behavior of your customers. So, you can put your products in the marketing based on their preferences according to the collected data.
After that, Growth Hacking class kind of giving me a glimpse of how to spend a little amount but receiving a huge amount in your businesses in return by finding or attracting as much users as possible.
After all, I’m liking the class and always looking forward to learn new things from the lecturer.

I’m looking forward to this course too, because Growth Hack isn’t about learning technology, it’s about learning to use technology to make your business a success. Rather than learning a lot of technology, you should use the technology you can use in your business. We’ll teach you everything in class, but you don’t have to use all of it in your business. Try to make your business a success.
