ウェブサーバーに蓄積されるログを分析する方法です。
ログをダウンロードしてパソコン内で分析する場合と、サーバーに解析ソフトをインストールして実施する場合があります。後者は「サーバーインストール方式」とも呼ばれます。
ウェブサーバーはブラウザからのリクエストにレスポンスを返し、その送受信履歴をログファイルに保存します。
ログファイルは「サーバーの負荷状況の確認」や「不正アクセスの検知」などの目的で活用されています。ウェブサイトのビジネス活用が進むにつれ、人気コンテンツの把握などマーケティング目的の解析にも使われるようになりました。
この方法が使われるのは、ウェブビーコン型の設定をする前のログで解析する場合や、画像ファイルなどビーコン型では測定できない場合などです。
Server log method
This is a method to analyze logs accumulated on a web server.
You may download the logs and analyze them on your computer, or you may install analysis software on the server. The latter is also called the “server installation method.”
The web server responds to requests from the browser and saves the history of sending and receiving in log files.
Log files are used for purposes such as “checking server load status” and “detecting unauthorized access.” As the use of websites for business has progressed, it has also come to be used for analysis for marketing purposes, such as understanding popular content.
This method is used when analyzing logs before setting up a web beacon type, or when analyzing image files that cannot be measured using a beacon type.
