If you want to have a successful business in restaurants, it is mandatory to make sure that you provide the best customer service. Providing the best customer service is not an easy task, naturally, you will ask how you can deliver the best service to customers in restaurants. To exactly know how to provide good service, you need to understand a clear definition of what is customer service first. 

Customer service in a restaurant is simply the advice and assistance you provide to your customers(smallbusiness.chron.com). It is basically the combination of how you communicate with your customers and give them the attention they want. Every time when there are customers at your restaurant, you want to make sure that they feel welcomed and feel at home. Most of the time, if customers are treated with respect while you provide them with appetizing meals, they will never forget the experience and of course, they would want to return to your restaurant again.

What you need to know is that customer satisfaction really affects your business. For instance, A study on Starbucks was conducted by the Harvard Business School and found out that satisfied customers visited the cafe about 4.3 times per month. They were also loyal customers for about 4.4 years and spent about $4.06 every time they went to Starbucks(smallbusiness.chron.com).

However, what if you have dissatisfied customers with your service? Clearly, they just abandon the brand because of the rude and bad service they receive. 

Normally, even if you have the best service, but if the food’s quality is not good, it also doesn’t work in the same way. Therefore, the quality of the food matters a lot in this too. But, you need to make yourself stand out by the experience that you provide to your customers. The best customer service is to make sure that the customers are your top priority. 

You need to know the way you speak to your customers by :

First, show your greeting: greet them with madam, sir, or any other titles as soon as they walk by the door.

Never Interrupt your customers while they speak

Listen to what they say and give them the attention

Also need to have complete knowledge of the menu, so it will be a lot convenient when customers have any questions about the meal. 

You also have to understand the restaurant etiquette by who you need to serve first, then in order. The position you serve the food and drink, for example, food is served on the left and drink is served on the right.

Try your best not to make diners wait too long, for whatever reason, even if our food is that great if they wait too long, the customers will be really hungry and irritated. Always have enough staff and ingredients for the food.

Whenever there is a problem, you need to be there for them and fix it as soon as possible, do not prolong it. You ask them what she or he wants, and give the solution or the proper agreement to them. 

Provide some sort of survey to them, listen to their opinions and feedback about our restaurant. Let them raise their voice, so we can fix any further problems.

I can’t really recommend certain restaurants here in Cambodia, because almost every restaurant here is provided with amazing customer service you have ever experienced.
