[KIT] The Benefits of using Social Medias

The way we connect has changed as a result of social media. It is in our best interests to be mindful of all-new ways for managing our online credibility. On the internet, the boundaries between professional and personal are blurring, and we frequently refer to our online presence as our “Personal Brand.” Here are the benefits of using social media.

1. Build more Relationships

It’s not just about brands interacting with their customers on social media. Indeed, at its heart, social media is all about getting people together. If you’ve ever attended a Social Shift training session I’ve led, you’ve probably heard that I met almost all of my friends in Phnom Penh via social media.

From a professional standpoint, communicating with peers, mentors, role models, and other professionals will help you significantly broaden your professional network. You’ll have a whole new network to tap into while you’re looking for opportunities or professional advice if you nurture those relationships.

2. Share your Skills

You will chat about what you know and what you want to be remembered for using social media. Potential professional and personal contacts would be drawn to you if you share your experience. You’ll have more chances to interact with like-minded people if you learn how to present your professional experience, successes, and performance.

3. Increase your Visibility

You have the ability to significantly improve your exposure and even become a thought-leader in your space if you spend time honing your skills and regularly managing your social media. If you regularly post quality content, the more people who share it, the more people will see it. However, it’s not just about showing the audience. You can also communicate with other people’s content.

4. Get yourself Educated

On the Internet, there is a lot of noise. You will concentrate on what you really care about and what you really want to hear via social media. You can make lists of material from people you like, opinion leaders in the industry, or media outlets. You can easily find out about current events and happenings in your city.

5. Connect anytime

This might seem to some of you as a downside. However, the benefit of being able to chat and interact with others at any time outweighs the downside.

Before, during, and after networking activities, conferences, and meetings, social media will help you communicate. People will learn more about you before meeting you and be better prepared to converse with you in person. I’ve met people in person for the first time after following them online for a while, and it felt like we’d known each other for a long time!
