Because of covid-19, all Japanese students are staying in Japan. We are taking online session via internet in our house. During staying in Japan, we usually do part time job. I choose uber eat which is a kind of food delivery service really hot in the US and Japan. I would like to describe the system a little, uber eats is categorized to private business. All drivers aren’t contracted to the head office directly. Each delivery partner have to prepare any vehicle ourselves like bike, motor bike. Each driver get uber eat application and during online, we receive order and customers details. And this is the most unique feature of uber eat. We can work anytime when we want. What we need at the time is just bike or motorbike and application in smartphone. After turn on the online button, we will get order from the nearest restaurant soon. Customers order menu to restaurants that are registered on uber eat and after the restaurant prepared the menu, the nearest driver will receive the order and pick up the menu instead of the customers and deliver to the customers address. When customers order menus, the price is going to be pretty high compare to buy at the restaurant. For example, there is one hamburger on the Macdonald menu 1 dollar. If customers order that via uber eat, he or she need 1 dollar + uber eat usage charge 30% if the total price of the menu + deliver fee 4.5 dollar = 6 dollar. Especially delivery fee depends on the distance from the restaurant and customers address. The more longer the distance, the more distance is longer, the more delivery fee is higher. For uber eats Japan, delivery partner will get 1 dollar more each kilometer. Moreover, sometimes delivery partner can get special incentive fee. If delivery partner deliver at the specific region or time especially really busy time, more than 1 dollar will be added to the first earning. Especially on the raining day, all time delivery partner receive more than 1.5 dollar to each delivery.
In this paragraph, I would like to write how uber eat change my life. As I described in the first sentence, the most unique feature is anytime we can work. especially for me, this system is so helpful as my classes schedules are not unstable, sometimes there are 5 hours from the first class to the next class. Moreover KIT are setting from Monday to Saturday. It’s so hard to set stable time at one job place… For my recent class and job cycle is, I start class from 10:30 and 2 or 3 classes will be continued after the first one and if I had more than 2 hours between each class, I will start to delivery.
Uber eats also effective for fitness who are using bike. Especially I am delivering in Tokyo, there are so many slopes. But recently, so many traffic accident that have to do with uber eat delivery partners. Although all delivery partner have to put on designated huge bag, it always let people noticed and be said, wow it’s a uber eat, I hope he or she won’t happen traffic accident…
