In the past, people communicated with each other by using any forms such as writing or long distances travelling. They had to spend more time sending and getting the important news from their relatives. Seeing difficult situations, scientists created more technology things to comfort transformation news around the world known as social media.
Here are the effects of social media on current situations.
Advantages: after discovering television, smart phone, computer and other modern devices to communicate, people are able to share their knowledge, their missing and break news around the world, meanwhile they also get feedback and important things from the world as well. For instance, recently Covid-19 diseases are infecting the world. if people didn’t get the announcements from the governments, would they be able to avoid carrying these diseases? Using TV shows and other devices to spread information is vitally important to prevent bad things from coming into our life. On the other hand, social media, also modern technology, allows people to gather more knowledge based to apply for any either universities or events such as Hackathon around the world, which provides the scholarship and chances to students for study and involves in problem solving as a part of society.
Disadvantages: even if TV shows and any forms of sharing news are important in this society, it provides bad effects to the social as well. First, it’s a great chance for pessimistic people to make a mess in society by providing fake news and criticizing others on social media. As when someone announced your mistakes and tagged your name in the media, then you’re being fabulous on other beholders. Second, it’s more effective for the range of ages from 5-20 years old. They’re easy to hock on new creative things and forget studying at school. As a result, they neither give a hope to be a human resource to their country nor provide good physical health to themselves.
Last but not least, social media as a new technology even though it is good for the younger generation to grab the information and participate in world events, it is also not good for overusing it or using it in the wrong way to destroy someone’s reputation or make the social unstable. As a citizen, we should know clearly and outweigh it.
In conclusion, if we don’t want to fall on the wrong path, we should consider both sides of social media. Only do we use the necessary cases and keep stabling between the pros and cons of social media because we cannot completely stop using it since it is a part of our lives.
