Studying is and easy word to talk but a hard thing to focus on but it is one of the most important step for in your life too.

What is IELTS ? IELTS aka International English Language Test is a test that needs to be taken by anyone who is interested in migrating or working in a country where English is a native language. One such example is Australia. IELTS is a must if you want to enroll in famous institutes where English is the native language and the minimum score for the IELTS must be at least 6.5 in order to get accepted.

I myself have got 6.5 for my IELTS exam and I will share my experiences regarding my preparation for the IELTS exam in this article. In IELTS, there are four papers and those include Listening, Speaking, Writing and Reading and I will cover all of them.

Listening

I got a listening score of 7 for my IELTS because of the practices that I did for IELTS preparation. I improved my listening skill by listening to English everyday, from movies, from Youtube videos, from songs and even from my friends. I also practiced for the IELTS listening test every day I go to school in the library. For each listening test, I always try to identify my errors, figuring out why I put this answer instead of this answer and try to improvise it. I usually did the same exam twice to check the pronunciation of the particular words that I missed.

Speaking

For this one, I don’t really have an outstanding score for it but I did some practice in order to get my current score for the speaking test. I improved my speaking skill by speaking English everyday with my friends and teachers and that is usually done at school. I also review hard on grammar so that I won’t make too many grammatical mistakes when I speak. Of course, before the speaking test, I usually do something to calm myself down in order to get rid of the nervousness so that I won’t stutter in the actual speaking test.

Writing test

This is probably one of the hardest subjects, at least for me in my journey to get 6.5 in IELTS. There are 2 parts for writing and I practiced each once accordingly. I usually check for the IELTS writing exam sample for those 2 types of writing exams and study it seriously until I understand the structure and the usage of words. I searched google for synonyms of each word that I think that I might use a lot when writing in order to avoid duplicate words also.

Reading test

This is the easiest subject for me as reading is my specialty. How do I practice my reading skill ? Simple, just read a lot. Of course in order to prepare for the exam, that might not be enough. Try to do as many IELTS exam samples as you can, identify your mistake and how it occurred in every test and try to implement what you learnt at a new sample. This is how I did it.

That all the advices that I could give on how to get 6.5 on IELTS!
