There are a lot of amazing events happening in Phnom Penh including Sports, Arts, Community, Health, Musics, Food fair, movie nights. Penhwonder is a web application that helps people explore and promote events in Phnom Penh easier. There are many types of events displayed with sufficient information including google maps of the location on the website. It has a good user interface and experience with fast searching functions on titles, descriptions, locations, dates, categories. You can also add the events to your Google calendar.
Another point worth mentioning is if you want to add your event from Facebook, you can just go to penhwonders.com/addupdateevent and put the link in. There is no need for manual filling in the form to add the event. Since there is also automation added into registering the events in the database every day, there is no need for any admin to maintain by adding or updating the events daily because every event’s data is from all the registered businesses’ pages, so it is workload-reduced.
There currently is no platform that covers events in Phnom Penh which is why we are here to improve your experience in living or visiting Phnom Penh. In terms of competitions, there are websites like Eventbrite which need manual registration for events and do not have enough variety of events. As far as I’m concerned, there are no applications or websites that have automatic events registration which is why we stand out among our competitors.
When it comes to development, the website and automation were built by 2 second-year students as a side project. We have worked tirelessly to develop the website while being on school and internship full time. Not only that this is already a real product already released, but we also plan to add a chatbox for people to socialize with each other and meet new people who would be interested in the same thing, and google maps custom markers with locations according to the events, so that we all can explore easier to see which are nearby or far away.
