Hello everyone! I have some experience that I want to share with everyone who reads this article about how to live in new environments asides from our comfort zone. In 2018-2019 when I was in grand 12 and living in my comfort zone which is living with a warm family without any concern regarding food, accommodation, transportation and facilities to use. In the end of 2019 after I graduate from high school I need to start my university life which means to try something new or get out of my comfort zone. Everything depends on myself not from my parents anymore and it is really a big challenge for me because for the first time that I have to live all alone and far away from my family. After graduating from high school I went to Phnom Penh to find university and especially find scholarships for helping my family finance because if only I got scholarships I would help my family a lot. So after going through this experience living in the city alone it is really really challenging but this is life we can’t deny it so all you need to do is be flexible, easy going with our people, find new friends and do something that can help our family and ourselves. First month living in Phnom Penh is really challenging but we can’t do anything about it. After you finish class at 18:00 I have to go back to the rental house to cook food by myself which is far different from high school life where my mom prepared foods and everything for me. Not only food but you will encounter a lot more when you live somewhere aside from your comfort zone. Regarding financial problems you need to manage all by yourself if you are not managed well and can not control the money that you use everyday. At the end of the day you can’t save any money to buy others things. The way to encounter this situation is to learn how to live with others such as friends, schoolmates and roommates. After experiencing life in Phnom Penh I found difficulty with finance and I needed to do something to support myself and I decided to find a part time job. But it always has challenges because we have to work and study at the same time and it is really difficult to manage but I have no choice but to do it. Aside from that after 6 months living in Phnom Penh I try to find a way to help my family and myself in terms of academics so I try to find scholarships to study without school fee and I registered to take the entrance exam at Kirirom Institute of technology. Moreover, I passed every exam and I just need to take the interview and if I pass the interview part and am willing to join KIT. After taking the interview for a week, the school called me.
In conclusion, no matter how hard your life is all you need to do is never give up and always remember that this is life.
