During working or studying, have you ever felt you would fall asleep immediately in the middle of class or unfinished work? Yes, then grab a cup of coffee and you will feel so awake and energetic again, but eventually you eyelids will drop, and Voila! another cup. In the past, caffeine is famous in the western countries, but now it’s for everyone, Asia, Africa, mention the place, starting from teachers with their coffee on the desk to Coders as their energizer to keep them awake all night. It’s true coffee is amazing keeping you with your work, but it will also affect you in a way you would not imagine.
Coffee: a live saver or taker?
There were also recent studies show that caffeine can enhance the level of concentration, but it does not improve creativity. And we have no doubt to agree with it. The benefits of consuming caffeine are: it boosts the body and physical performance due to the calories give energy, it keeps consumers awake as it improves mental alertness, burns fat, and reduces risk of stroke, and many more. Amazing, isn’t it? But, it is somehow too good to be true, and this is why.
Insomnia can be caused by drinking too much coffee; forcing your body to stay awake although it is running out of energy and needs a good rest or sleep is not advised. A maximum amount of caffeine should be taken is around 400 mg which equals to 4 cups, and remember this is MAX not MIN.
As each and everyone has different body system, what others can take doesn’t mean you can do the same. This is also applicable to coffee, for those who are caffeine-sensitive, be careful, a sip of coffee can take you straight to the hospital. Pregnant women is advised to take only a cup of coffee a day, as more can be overwhelming.
Expensive Vs. Cheap Coffee
All the drawbacks leave above haven’t included the quality of coffee. Did you know, why coffee in the famous shops are expensive? Of course, not all coffee beans are the same, they grew in different places with different techniques of planting. Cheap coffee bean can have lots of impurities in it, which can cause sickness, headache or bad feeling. Coffee from over ripped bean can also be toxic. But, if you invest on buying good quality coffee, it’s highly suggested, however if you planning to save money, stay away from all this coffee things.
Should you keep drinking it?
If you have high cholesterol, pregnant, underage, or caffeine-sensitive, you should be more cautious about consuming coffee, and take it into account.
Overall, up to 4 cups of coffee consumed is good as it prevents from many diseases and health problems and even helps burning fat. Taking note, as long as the coffee is high in quality and toxic-free, go for it.
